MJF vs Wardlow | Fate Of Wardlow’s Contract

Wardlow def. MJF via Pinfall at 7:33

This was a simple, yet brilliant way of capping off a 2 year journey of a storyline. Wardlow hit MJF with 10 vicious powerbombs for the win and to make himself officially #AllElite **1/2

The Young Bucks vs The Hardys | Elite vs Delete

Jeff Hardy def. Nick Jackson via Pinfall at 19:13

A few mistimings towards the beginning of this bout, but they were able to move past that and have a fun tag match with some insane spots and a shocking result as the Hardys get a clean victory over the frankly overpushed Young Bucks ***1/4

Jade Cargill(c) vs Anna Jay | TBS Championship Match

Jade Cargill def. Anna Jay via Pinfall at 7:27

It’s a messy bout, but not too bad. More about the arrivals of the former Malcom Bivens and Ember Moon. **

Death Triangle vs House Of Black | 6 Man Tag Team Match

Malakai Black def. PAC via Pinfall at 15:31

The ending threw me off a bit mostly because I thought it was completely someone else, but yeah this was a very cool sprint match with some crazy spots and some nice back and forth near falls that really brings the question of who will win which I always love in wrestling. ***3/4

Adam Cole vs Samoa Joe | Men’s Owen Hart Cup Tournament Final

Adam Cole def. Samoa Joe via Pinfall at 13:16

A bit iffy on the rather clean finish, but overall a very good contest. Nothing oundtsnding or amazing, but a solid boutique either way. ***

Dr. Britt Baker DMD Vs Ruby Soho | Women’s Owen Hart Cup Tournament Final

Britt Baker def. Ruby Soho at 14:48

I think my main issue with this match is the lack of engagement brought to me and the joining audience in the arena. It’s a slow burn of a match that only gets interesting towards the end, but even then their weaknesses are exposed when we get a heavily messy finishing stretch that never seemed to end. It felt longer than 15 minutes and that’s not good. I do appreciate the post match speech and presentation however *3/4

America’s Top Team vs Sammy Guevera, Frankie Kazarian, & Tay Conti | Mixed 6 Man Tag Team Match

IMG Credit: AEW & Mandatory

Scorpio Sky def. Frankie Kazarian via Pinfall at 12:04

A fun match here and also a satisfying one as Sammy and Tay faced the consequences for being the most annoying people ever. Interesting how Frankie turned on his partners yet still fought their opponents. No idea why, but whatever. ***

Kyle O’Reilly vs Darby Allin | Singles Match

IMG Credit: AEW & Fightful

Kyle O’Reilly def. Darby Allin via Pinfall at 10:33

A surprisingly clean win for O’Reilly after a fun and engaging match. A random placement on the card, but definitely a good one. ***

Thunder Rosa(c) vs Serena Deeb | AEW Women’s Championship Match

IMG Credit: AEW & WrestlingWorld

Thunder Rosa def. Serena Deeb via Pinfall at 16:52

Started promising with some nice exchanges, but descended into a bit of a boring however average contest. It’s solid, but not so engaging and also extremely messy. Matches the build quite nicely. **1/4

The Jericho Appreciation Society vs Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson, Eddie Kingston, Santana, & Ortiz | Anarchy In The Arena Match

IMG Credit: AEW & SportsKeeda

Chris Jericho & Jake Hager def. Bryan Danielson via TKO at 22:41

A fun, chaotic, and overall dramatic brawl here. Everyone went nuts here. Blood everywhere, brutal ways of attempting to win. Very surprised that Jericho’s team was able to win here, but that finish was knarly. ***1/2

Jurassic Express(c) vs Keith Lee & Swerve Strickland vs Ricky Starks & Powerhouse Hobbs | AEW World Tag Team Championships Three-Way Match

IMG Credit: AEW & Wrestling Republic

Jungle Boy def. Swerve Strickland via Pinfall at 17:16

A couple of missteps here, but overall a very good and fun tag title bout here with some near falls that really added to it. The multiple Jungle Boy is going to be pinned moments is interesting because it exposes the power dynamic between himself and Luchasaurus. ***1/4

‘Hangman’ Adam Page(c) vs CM Punk | AEW World Championship Match

IMG Credit: AEW & ComicBook

CM Punk def. Adam Page via Pinfall at 25:54

Very good main event. The action is pretty good, but the storytelling is fantastic. This was a bloody war. Hangman hated Punk so much he would do anything to win, even if it meant risking Disqualification. But the his good side got the best of him and cost him the match against Punk who was all tons of emotional after the match. I didn’t like it at first, but you know what…I’m happy for the guy. ***1/2

Overall this is a solid show, however I do need to bring up a few complaints. First of all, this show went 4 hours and 40 minutes. That is absolutely absurd especially for a non WWE promotion. And secondly I feel like some of these matches were brought down by the fact that they were all 10+ minutes except for Jade vs Anna, but even that had a post match segment. So yes, there are a few things to remember here like Punk winning the title, Wardlow securing a contract, and the bunch of debuts, but honestly there is just *good*. One of the weaker AEW PPVs, but it’s really saying something when it’s still a solid show. 6.5/10
